Name: Daring Do
Canon: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
COU/AU/OC: AU
Canon Point: After Daring Do and the Solar Salamander
History:
Daring Do was born to a family of ponies with very similar-sounding names. Her mother, Daria Do. Her father, Daren Do. Her younger brother, Darrin Do. Her older sister, Derring Do. However, Daring's mother died when she was very young. A short time later, her father disappeared and it was up to Derring to take care of both Daring and Darrin.
Daring showed interest in archaeology at a very early stage, and spent most of her time studying to become an archaeologist. When she was old enough to go to college, Derring had decided to go and leave the two to fend for themselves as she was finally able to pursue her own dreams. She did so without telling the two, leaving them to think that she had died as well, but a newspaper detailing one of her exploits made its way to Daring and Darrin. This created a huge rift in between them.
Daring's very first adventure was during a college study trip where she encountered valley filled with dinosaurs that were still living. She encountered the supreme overlord of the valley, named Grumpy, and soon had to try and flee for her life. However, after some time, she managed to dislodge a bone that was stuck in his throat. Soon after, they became the best of friends.
Little did she know that her next adventure would be her most guilt-inducing one. She and some of her friends, including one named Zapapple Tock, went to tell ghost storied while camping in the Brickabrack Woods. However, a strange beast set their eyes on the group. Daring went away from the campsite in order to get a tent that was missing. When she returned, everyone was dead. From then on, Daring couldn't help but feel responsible for causing her death, even after the defeat of the half-bird beast that caused it all, Chickerufus.
She went on many adventures and visited many places thereafter, from the moon to the ruins of a Diamond Dog settlement to Neighpon. But as she went on with those adventures, she continued to study hard in order to get her true job as an archaeologist. However, she eventually managed to get a job working for a pony named Masra at the Royal Canterlot University as a teacher in the Equinology Department. Her peace and quiet didn't go on for too long when she got sent on her first field assignment to explore an old unicorn castle that is said to have had ties with her missing parents. This field assignment got interrupted when a Wendigo lead by a strange creature known as Ahuizotl. She eventually bested Ahuizotl and retrieved The Spear of the Wendigos. The whole incident was one she'd never forget, as she never knew how many more times she would encounter Ahuizotl.
Life continued on as normal as possible for Daring Do... at least for a short while. Due to her adventures, this drew the attention of Derring. She challenged Daring to see who can recover The Platinum Crown, an ancient artifact their parents were never able to find, first. But before and during the race, Darrin called out Derring on just abandoning them like that. Ahuizotl showed up again, forcing the two of them to finally work together, and they eventually defeated him and recovered the crown.
After one further encounter with Ahuizotl, Daring Do was excavating an ancient pegasi settlement, she discovered that her father was trapped somewhere and set out to rescue him. This did not go smoothly as she was continuously attacked by a yeti. One such attack happened in the Canterlot University... lead by Ahuizotl. The attack was fended off, but not before Daring Do was nearly stuffed in a refrigerator that contained many spoiled-for-at-least-a-century food within. But with enough time and effort, they rescue and reunite with Daren and find a baby dragon named Rayback, who decides to stay with the librarian and Head of Arcane Magic at Canterlot University, Tabula Rasa.
Some time later, Herpy, Daring Do's assistant throughout her adventures during her time in the university, buys a wooden mask for Daring Do. However, the mask was far more sinister than either of them could have thought. Daring Do and the corruptive mask disappeared without a trace, so it was up to Herpy to search for her. With enough persistance and reminding her of all the good she did, she managed to fight against the mask's corruption and remove it, saving herself from falling to evil.
Soon after, Daring Do came across the legendary battlefield of where Princess Celestia defeated and banished Nightmare Moon. There' she encountered her toughest foe yet: An earth pony archaeologist named Sebastius Mareton. He made himself known as very violent, and eventually, Derring captured him. He managed to lecture her into murderous grief, with Derring going after Daring with intent to kill. She managed to calm down her sister with some effort and teamed up to fight against Mareton, eventually defeating him.
Time went on and more adventures happened until a conspiracy in Canterlot University made itself known. The conspiracy was successful and the university offices were bombed and destroyed, causing Masra's reputation to plummet to nearly all hatred. Daring Do and her friends take it upon themselves to find out who set her up to take the fall. They eventually did and defeated their enemy, but not before Masra was killed.
After the reconstruction of the university and its offices, a mare named Deborus Nagridge was chosen by the Canterlot University Overseers to be the new Head of the school. She made it clear she was a racist and a unicorn supremacist. She made it a huge point to obstruct Daring Do and her friends from achieving much by way of a dictatorial hoof. Adventures were more difficult with Nagridge in charge, such as Daring's Family bonds being put to the ultimate test, but it was eventually revealed that she was a pawn used by Ahuizotl.
Daring's nemesis tried to empower himself using various artifacts that she collected and thrust Equestria into an eternal night... along with help from Mareton. However, Mareton took great offense to Nagridge's racism and killed her and Ahuizotl was eventually killed and his plot was eventually mimicked by a dragon named Inti. He wanted all of Nightmare Moon's power to himself. Little did he know that doing so was his undoing. Nightmare Moon was enraged and thrust Inti into the stars as a new constellation.
Not too long after while on another adventure, Daring Do discovered that Ahuizotl was somehow back to life. Once again Ahuizotl was defeated. But something happened on her very next adventure. Daring Do was finally captured by her nemesis and Herpy had to find an artifact to exchange to Ahuizotl for Daring's safety. Things didn't end there, and Daring set out to rally all the help she can get. Coworkers such as Tabula Rasa and the griffon Storm Talon, her family, friends such as Outback Jack and Desert Rose, and even other people such as her rival Bravado and a pair of conponies she's occasionally met on her adventures named Swinn and Dell had all needed to help her take own Ahuizotl. Things didn't go so well for them, and Ahuizotl was only defeated by himself when he summoned an Alligator God named Sobek... who promptly made Ahuizotl his first target.
Still, a lot of people were hurt at the end of the adventure. This lead to Daring Do trying to cast off friends and assistants and deciding to work alone because she never wanted anyone to be hurt because of the dangers she faces. She travels to the town of Ponyville to try and track down an ancient artifact and was promptly met with the sight of a blue pegasus with rainbow-colored hair: Rainbow Dash. The two encountered Ahuizotl trying to bring 800 years of extreme heat by not allowing the sun to set. When Rainbow Dash decided to stop fangirling, she helped Daring Do defeat Ahuizotl once again. The interaction between Rainbow Dash and Daring Do helped the archaeologist realize not to distance herself from anyone, even if it was to protect them from harm.
Daring Do's been on many adventures afterwards and met many, many people. He encountered a Vampony named Count Vryko Lakas, uncovered a hidden town's dark secret within The Everfree Forest, put a stop to a cult that wanted to summon a being that devours everything called The Smooze, and many more adventures. But... some of her more notable adventures was encountering a highly dangerous and crazy bipedal bear creature named Krastos, traveled throughout and witnessed many alternate universes, Entered a temple with her family that threatened to tear them apart but bought them closer together (and managed to get closure over Daria Do's death), Battled against undead griffons-turned-living-superweapons called The Greifvögel, Watched Swinn die by the hoofs of some golems made of silver, witness Count Vryko Lakas put to rest his entire species minus himself because he was the only one that wanted ponies to remain alive, and aided with the defeat of a rampaging Tirek.
Personality:
Daring Do is a highly adventurous and intelligent pony. Her passion is Archaeology, and it definitely shows. Perhaps a little too much, though. She'll usually drop important stuff like teaching her class at Canterlot University in order to go after that one new artifact she just heard about and leave others to take over her job as a teacher. She also prefers not to make plans, thinking up things as she goes along. This can sometimes result her getting into trouble just as quickly as she's able to get out of it.
She's also very courageous and heroic, oftentimes trying to act as an inspiration. While her main goal is preserving history, her next biggest goal is helping and saving others, plus she occasionally goes to cheer people up with her wisdom and optimism. She'll always try and choose the most moral choice or otherwise neglect to do things in order to make others happy.
Though she's adventurous and optimistic most of the times, she has a pretty prevalent bitter side that can come out easily. She can show herself to be very sarcastic and snarky and can get frustrated easily. With her bitter wit, she can demean her enemies and then attempt to bash her head against the wall because of something stupid they said or did Unfortunately, this can occasionally extend to allies.
She has a somewhat close bond with her family that eventually repaired itself into a very close bond. It took Derring nearly murdering her to Daring to try to reconnect with her sister, and she still feels as if she's in her father's shadow, never able to be as good an archaeologist as him. She had once felt abandoned by both of them, but through many trials, she's learned to better appreciate all of her family, and loves them very dearly despite all of that, and greatly dislikes it when they are put in danger.
She prefers not doing mundane and tedious tasks such as paperwork. She's always ready for action and prefers things to be awesome than normal. She occasionally tries to find ways to cut corners when doing something she doesn't like. Even though she can focus without any trouble, she still finds it boring, hence why she teaches "Awesome Archarology", going over only the things she finds awesome, such as exploring, excavating, and history.
Strengths:
Daring Do is very strong and athletic. She can fly very quickly and has the endurance to back things up. She's a very quick thinker, able to think herself out of any trouble she may find herself in. She's also very intelligent and knows a lot about archaeology and languages, including some very ancient ones.
Weaknesses:
Despite her strengths, there are times where her common sense lapses and causes her to mess up at times. She can also be a bit of a bitter jerk occasionally, such as when she nearly broke Rainbow Dash's idealism. When other people are hurt, she can usually find a way to blame herself, even if it was impossible for her to help.

Just how was she teleported here? Was it some ancient artifact? Just who was behind this strange turn of events? Leaving this unchecked could cause some global catastrophe, She couldn't just sit idly by and let things go their own way like that.
With a mental apology to the head of the school and Storm Talon, she got up and started asking around for the local library. Too bad she couldn't tell her workmates directly. A quickly written letter telling them she was off an adventure was the best she can come up with, and she's sure they'll understand.
As she asked around, it became all the more apparent that she was dealing with something she's never heard before. And she feels she would need a lot of help.
